Claire Chabrieres is French, married to a Japanese foodie and mother of 3. She moved to Asia 25 years ago and after a career in digital, moved to organic agriculture 8 years ago. She wanted to know what she was feeding her children came from, and be sure it was grown organically. 

When Claire started ShiokFarm, she had a group of 10 families commit to take 10kg of organic fruit and vegetables per week. This grew to about 300 families and quite a beautiful network of farms across Malaysia and Thailand.

All the farms are certified organic and a number of them are pivoting to regenerative farming. In parallel, with the support of a NGO, Claire has been planting thousands of mangrove trees in Indonesia over the past few years. The objective is for ShiokFarm to be carbon neutral in 2025.

In 2023, ShiokFarm proudly obtained its BCorp certification: ShiokFarm is now officially a “business for good” and does everything it can to be as sustainable as possible.

He graduated in arts from the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University, and started his journey as a designer in an advertising company. Seksun then transitioned from design work to an advertising creative role, holding positions – Art Director and eventually heading the creative thinking department of several firms.

Before Seksun Oonjitti shifted his focus, he took a break from his routine, hitting the road to travel throughout the country. He immersed himself in the journey – eating, resting, getting to know, and experiencing every culture, photograph all 77 provinces.

A year later, after changing his environment from urban to rural, He feels appreciation and infatuation for nature. He began cultivating unique vegetables in the middle of a field in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima.  And he fall in love with it.

He always remains eager to learn new things. because he believes the crosss-knowledge is interdisciplinary, it becomes a powerful force of yours.

Thawee Farm, one of Thailand’s pioneering bio-dynamic pig farms. The farm operates in harmony with nature, managed with care and reliance on natural processes.

Watcharapol Daengsubha was born in Bangkok and graduated in Business Administration. He worked a fairly high-salary job before becoming a diving instructor in Khao Lak, Phang Nga. However, after the tsunami incident, he felt that his business was utilizing natural resources unsustainably, until nature reclaimed its balance. He questioned the macro-economic concept that allocates limited resources to meet the unlimited needs of humans. He envisioned that if this continues, the existing resources would gradually deplete.

Consequently, he turned his focus towards serious organic farming, starting with his family’s mangosteen farm before trying to encourage his fellow farmers to adopt a more nature-conscious approach to agriculture.

Nanon Karnjanachari is a sustainability officer at Krungthai Bank, working across a range of topics including decarbonization strategies, sustainable finance products, sustainability disclosures, and ESG-risk integration.

He recently completed his Master of Environments degree in Australia and is currently beginning his career in Thailand. Nanon is passionate about ensuring a Just Transition in every sector of the economy and has always had a particularly keen interest in sustainable food systems and agricultural practices. As someone in the financial sector, Nanon is interested in the role of financial institutes as facilitators of the transition towards a sustainable food system.

Nanon is also involved with biodiversity finance initiatives as part of an inter-organizational working group and additionally, through a local chapter of the Global Biodiversity Youth Network and the UNFCCC. In addition to his experience in finance, he also has experience working for food and waste related start-ups and not-for-profits in Australia.
